This is a fantastic visual aid for crystals, I have added it on to the bottom of the post about crystals and oils for protection. So make sure if you are reading the post that you read right to the end and click on the links as you go.nI am no teacher or expert, just a way shower to point people in the hopefully right direction they want to go. 

I can’t thank the people responsible for this enough for sharing this information. It is very helpful for people that love crystals and to improve their knowledge of crystals. 

Crystals and essential oils for protection

 A lot of people feel the need right now for spiritual protection but may not know how to go about it. Most importantly setting boundaries around themselves and their homes to ward off negative energy from toxic people or from psychic attacks and energy vampires is a must do. 

There are plenty crystals, herbs and essential oils that can be used to evoke positive energies, block negative energies and even assist in unblocking your chakras. 

With crystals, to start with I recommend buying a one or two large (10 to 14 cm in diameter) selenite charging plates, especially if like me you have a lot of crystals.These are used to cleanse and recharge crystals. Selenite is a high power crystal which is self cleaning and never needs to be charged. There are cautions though, never allow it to get wet or it will be damaged permanently. This is a soft crystal of only 2 on the  Mohs scale, so handle with care. Pick a room to keep your selenite charging plates and leave them there. Put your crystals on the plate to clean and reenergise them, which can be from 3 hours up to 24 hours. This includes crystal jewellery such as rings, pendants, bracelets earrings, chip necklaces and bracelets. 

Some people say don’t put hematite on the selenite though or you can lose the energy of the hematite, it’s best to charge in the moonlight. There are a few conflicting recommendations as to the right way to charge or clean hematite, so you will need to work that out for yourself. When unsure google what crystals should and should not be cleansed or changed in whatever manner. There are variations and some people have strong opinions on the subject. Don’t trust AI overview either because it can and does contradict itself often. 

Kyanite and Citrine never need cleaning or charging either. Soft crystals can be smudged with Sage, Palo Santo or Cedarwood incense sticks. Generally you only need to smudge these crystals for 30 to 60 seconds if you do smudge them. 

Never put opposing crystals together on a charging plate either, calming crystals versus energising crystals is not a good mix and you can lose the powerful energy from your crystals. Angelite must never get wet either or it can dissolve like selenite and hematite. Keep them away from your kitchen and bathroom. 

Essential oils for protecting and cleansing 

The following help you with setting boundaries, learn to say No, But you must learn to change the subject if it’s triggering or highly sensitive. Keep away from people who are chronically complaining too as they will drain your energy and bring you down. 

Thyme, Juniper, Palo Santo, Cedarwood, Tee Tree, Laurel Leaf, Blood Orange.

Other oils and herbs are, Lavender, Rosemary, Frankincense, Lemon, Eucalyptus, Bergamot, Ylang Ylang.

Rosemary clears and shields, Frankincense and Tee Tree clean and protect, and good old Eucalyptus cleans and uplifts. By the way Australian Aboriginal peoples use Eucalyptus leaves for smudging or smoking ceremonies to ward off evil spirits and cleanse the environment for spiritual purposes and protection. 

Do look up the spiritual uses for each essential oil online to work out what ones you need. 

Crystals 

Black Obsidian (used for shielding, powerful psychic protection, clearing negative psychic energy and energy attachments, ), Selenite towers and generators (purification and protection, improves intuition, clears blocked energy), Amethyst (psychic protection), Lapis Lazuli (opening the third eye, stimulating the higher mind, ) Angelite (calming, boosting psychic abilities, enhancing spirit communication, activates the third eye, throat chakra and crown chakra), Black Tourmaline(repels negative energy) Lepidolite( contains Lithium, calming, healing, balances the third eye and heart chakras, psychic awareness ),  Labradorite (protection from psychic attacks, grounding , connections to spirit world , intuition, transformative energy )Rose Quartz ( healing, loving energy , ) Smokey Quartz (grounding, helps with fear, anxiety, cleansing and protection), Shungite(protection, grounding, purification, emotional stability), Moonstone. Meditation (grounding, gold, white light protection) 

This is very important and I can’t stress this enough, simple and effective meditation exercises that only take minutes to do. Setting the intention is number one, not just with the meditation but with the crystals cleansing and charging or energising, the use of herbs for smudging AKA smoking and the essential oil uses. These all must have sincere intentions, your thoughts are powerful and must be taken seriously when working with these tools. Otherwise you are wasting your time, and if someone is actually directing negative thoughts as in a psychic attack at you, then you need to be able to stop them in their tracks quickly. 

Sometimes you may need to do a thorough smudging throughout your house or even your body to remove heavy energy. There  are also space clearing essences available to mist yourself and your house. I prefer the Australian Bush Flower Essence , Space Clearing Essence.  Occasionally a house may need both smudging and a space clearing essences. That would be highly recommended if you move into a rental property, giving you a nice fresh start in your new home. You need to open up the windows and doors if you are smudging the house because it is very smoky. 

New comers to this area will realise there is a lot to learn about energy clearing and reenergising. When smudging for instance, you need a dish or a good sized Abalone shell to use your smudge stick. Some people put a layer of sand in the shell to extinguish the smudge stick, others prefer salt, especially Himalayan salt or Sea Salt rocks. I use Sea Salt rocks. Then an Eagle feather to waft the smoke around the body and aura to cleanse and protect. The same is done in a house or building, going room to room and going around the corners, windows and doors. Not forgetting mirrors, tv screens and computer monitors. 

For energy or spiritual protection such as putting up a defensive shield around yourself or your loved ones, this is a meditation. Which is best to start with gold light protection around your entire body and aura. You may also want to gold light your home, a room, your car, your workplace. Again it’s by intention that makes this work, this is energy in motion and is thought reactive. You don’t need to be physically present in the area that you are gold lighting because you are working with thought forms. You visualise the place you want to protect and do the meditation exercise. Spiritual or psychic protection has been around for thousands of years around the world. Different cultures have their own methods, but you need to pick what resonates with you. 

After this you must ground yourself, the golden grounding cord meditation (which is a yoga practice) is first,  followed by going down your chakras and grounding, I do this daily. If you are doing any spiritual activity you should gold light the room before and after meditation to close down the room or you can attract unwanted energy or entities. 

Next pick the crystals that you want to use and buy from a reputable dealer. Cleanse and energise them as soon as you get them and sit them where you need them. Heavy energy from absorbing negative energies means you must clean the crystals regularly, such as doing energy work which may be daily. If they are for occasional use then maybe monthly charging. Learn what crystals do and how to care for them. Not all crystals can be in sunlight or near salt, salty water or water as they can be damaged. Some crystals do not like smudging either, so some people do sound baths using Tibetan Singing Bowls. The energy from the bowls penetrates the crystals. 

Towers and generators are probably something that you should consider especially selenite and black tourmaline towers for protecting the energy in a room, you can place them in your bedroom, lounge room or office. It all depends on what you use them for. To keep the energy positive it’s a good idea to place one or two in your lounge room or family room along with rose quartz and amethyst geodes, you don’t need huge geodes though. Just something that you can lift and move easily, placing selenite next to it helps to clean and energise your amethyst. 

Some people like to make an energy grid using black tourmaline in the corners of a room and place a selenite tower in the middle of the room to counter negative energy. Again this depends on your lifestyle and what your intention is. Beneficial plants can be incorporated into your home to promote positive energies too. Some ideas are Ribbon or Spider plants, Pothos, Ivy leaf geraniums with the rose fragrance, Jade, Peace Lilies, Aloe Vera, Mother in Law’s Tongue. Most plants are highly beneficial although spiky plants are not usually used as they are a no-no in Feng Shui practices.  

The idea is to have a happy, healthy and peaceful environment and restful sleep at night. Thyme is also said to be put under the pillow to stop nightmares. 

As for wearing crystals there are many to choose from and their purposes. Wearing them on your left hand side or right hand side. This is to do with defending or receiving energy coming in to you or leaving you. The left hand is receiving energy and here one must be careful, is it negative energy sent to you or healing energy? This is the feminine and passive side of the body or Ying energy. 

Your right hand is the giving or Yang/male energy. If you are returning negative energies back to someone then you can put a Selenite and Black Tourmaline bracelet on your left wrist to protect yourself. You are sending the negative energy away from you. On the right wrist the same bracelet is taking in protective and cleansing energy if that is the intention you have set. An Amethyst bracelet on your left wrist helps open up your psychic powers, a Rose Quartz bracelet will help bring more loving and healing energy into your body. You need to shop by intent of purpose when choosing your crystal jewellery as well as the crystals you choose for your home. The standard crystals people buy are Clear Quartz, Amethyst, Rose Quartz and Smoky Quartz. But again there are many to choose from and they have multiple purposes. 

Some people like myself can hold their hand over a crystal and feel the energy coming from it. This is a way to work out which one you are attracted to. Sometimes you will automatically feel a strong pull to a particular crystal without knowing why. Trust that feeling because that is your body telling you that you need that crystal in particular.

CRYSTALS: Black Obsidian Tower

 I just added a new baby to my crystals at the weekend, a beautiful black obsidian tower. Black obsidian is the major power in combating negative energy, transmuting it and releasing the energy. It is said to ground the soul and spiritual forces into the physical plane. The stone is also said to help in self control and being more in-tuned to one’s true self. It magnifies negative energies so that they can be fully experienced and released. The healing effect can go back into past lives and can work on the ancestral and family line. It reverses previous misuse of power and addresses power issues on all levels, teaching that to be empowered is not to weird personal power but to use this power for the good of all. 

Obsidian is actually volcanic glass and it’s found worldwide, seen as a protective stone which is often used by psychic and very sensitive people to shield them from any form of negative energies. It’s used for clearing unwanted energy and habits as well as for scrying. Known to enhance the gift of prophecy and enhancing psychic abilities. Black obsidian balls are highly sought after for use in powerful meditation and scrying which is a form of Clairtangence. Selenite Crystal

 

Selenite is a great crystal and especially when it's a generator crystal. I keep one in my bedroom and one in my office. Some of the properties of the ethereal selenite are, removing toxic energy or blocking negative energy, blocking negative entities and psychic attacks especially when  used with black tourmaline in energy grids. Cleansing the aura and balancing the chakras are part of its uses, as is enhancing one's psychic abilities and is used in healing work. 

Selenite is good for preventing nightmares, calming the mind and de-stressing. It is very important in spiritual work, use Selenite for emotional healing, mental clarity and focus. Selenite is connected to the crown chakra and the 5 chakras above the crown chakra. A word of caution in regards to the 5 chakras above your crown chakra. the first three are safe to use however the 4th and 5th can be used for connecting and communicating with non terrestrial beings or alien beings. I am not in favour of communicating with such beings and I feel this is not a safe or healthy pursuit.   

Caution should always be employed when dealing with the unseen world as carelessness can be very harmful to one's mental health. Do not mess with things you cannot control or understand, one should only communicate with one's higher self, anything or anyone communicating with you via meditation must go through your higher-self as a safety filter.  Even then it is up to your discernment as to whether to allow the communication. This beautiful crystal is have guardian to keep by your side in this activity and other powerful protective crystals.

I strongly recommend you use rose essential oil on your main chakras, wrists, both the palms and backs of your hands, on your ankles, the top of your feet and the souls of your feet  when meditating, or doing any spiritual work because rose essential oil has a very high energy and is very good for spiritual connection and protection. Blue Idaho Spruce is the highest energy of all the essential oils but it may not be available as easily as Rose. Rose is my favourite due to the fragrance and its spiritual uses.

Use Selenite to cleanse and energise other crystals, it is a must have crystal in your crystal tool kit. It is a beautiful crystal just to own with is loving warmth, purity, ethereal power and appeal. Do not get Selenite wet as this will damage the crystal.

Alex’s Amethyst Mother Crystal (The Mother Crystal)

 

A few months ago I bought a few crystals and this particular amethyst jumped out at me, I found it at The Dinosaur Museum in Gold Creek in Canberra, the photo doesn’t do the crystal justice though. When I got it home and put it in place, I did a cleansing on it and I heard the word, Mother. I keep hearing this often whenever I look at the crystal, this is a powerful little crystal and I am very fond of it. I get the feeling that it has a strong protective energy for me. Amethyst is a feminine energy and I feel the power of the divine feminine emanates from this beautiful crystal. This is quite interesting because as we move into 2025 feminine energies will be strong all year as we move into a new cycle for humanity. 

I have never felt such a strong connection to a crystal like this before. I do feel the energy of a crystal when I put my hand close to it. This energy feels like a strong tingling sensation similar to when doing spiritual healing. So this is how I intuitively feel the right crystal for me, the energy frequencies are important when buying a crystal. So if you are able to feel the energy emitting from a crystals that is a great sign. 

Blue crystals and blue clothes

Lately I have had the urge to wear a lot of blue including blue crystals, Angelite, Sodalite and Lapis Lazuli in particular. I have worn shades purples and pinks with either white or black for years. But over the past few months I am really drawn to blue. This is a very strong pull I might add, you know like when you just can’t stop being attracted to a certain colour. 

Isn’t it funny how we get strong pulls to wear particular colours suddenly. I recall my mother being told by a psychic, that I would wear a lot of blue 40 odd years ago. I was in my early 20’s then, wow such a long time ago. I did have a light sky blue mohair jumper that I wore to death back then but always loved purple shades and pink. So here I am filling my wardrobe with blue, but it has to be particular shades of blue,  I can’t stand turquoise, it has to be proper cold colours. The occasional pastels will do in summer though. 

These colours in the crystals below are more of the blues that I resonate with. Blue on a spiritual level is related to spirituality, calmness, peace, serenity, communication, integrity, intuition, healing, truth, confidence, power and wisdom. Blue is also related to the elements water and air, the star sign Libra (that’s me 🤣) Sagittarius, Aquarius and Pisces. 

The colour blue is aligned to both healing, the heart chakra, the throat chakra, and the third eye or crown chakra.the shades of blue are different thought the darker blue of sodalite is correlated to the throat chakra and the head chakra is

Sodalite, used for logic, rational thinking and aligned to the throat chakra, enlightenment and broaden knowledge.  Beneficial in helping people be more objective and less critical. It is said to be useful in combatting the effects of both natural and artificial radiation for those who work around x ray equipment or radioactive material. Very beneficial for acupuncturists.

Blue Lace Agate

This beautiful shade of Blue Agate is lovely and soft, just the sort of soft blue tones that I love; which harmonises with my Lapis Lazuli and Sodalite necklaces. Celestine is another on that looks similar to Angelite.

Blue Lace Agate is a healing stone with soft energy, its calming and cooling and works with the throat chakra. Assisting in self expression, dispelling anger. Dispelling old patterns of repression. A lovely crystal to use spiritually to bring about peace within you. 

Astrologically this stone has an affinity with Gemini and Pisces, as the blue colour relates to both air and water.

I just love the soft feminine feel of this crystal and to wear it with something to show off its beauty is a must.

Lapis Lazuli used for the third eye, mind, body and spirit connection and purity. It is a cleansing stone for the respiratory system, throat, lungs and the nervous system. It also assists with blood purification and boosts the immune system. Its main function is for the mind and mental function. Lapis Lazuli is also a powerful thought amplifier. Know to increase psychic abilities and opening the third eye. 

Care is important in where to wear this stone, such as near the throat as possible, it must be used with great caution and care. It should be placed above the diaphragm and brings forth the individual’s inherent abilities and enhances their abilities. 

Lapis Lazuli is connected to Taurus, Aquarius and Sagittarius star signs.

Kyanite comes in a few colours this is the light blue version which has a lovely shimmer to it.

This crystal holds similar properties to the other blue crystals mentioned here, this one is my own which sits in my office or is worn in a little pouch. While this crystal has calming abilities, it is a healing crystal said to lower blood pressure, relieve pain, assisting with trauma, aids dream recall used in meditation and relaxation. It is a communication stone or crystal like all these blue crystals it assists communication and therefore good in the office or in communicating with others clearly. Again it is aligned to the throat chakra. Kyanite does not need cleansing because it does not absorb negative energy.

Kyanite is associated with Aries, Taurus and Libra, it also aligns with the throat and crown chakras.

I have been after a new Jade bangle for a few months, I had to break the old one because it was affecting my circulation. Actually this is now my third Jade bangle, because I accidentally broke my original  by bumping it on a wall. I have been combing the internet for an Australian website that sells Jade bangles. So today I found this beautiful website with heaps of treasures. A girl could go nuts on this website honestly.

I am over the moon at discovering this website, and the lady went out of her way to help me get the right size of bangle. I am so appreciative and can’t wait for my precious bangle to arrive in the mail. I don’t like being without a Jade bangle.

Kyanite crystal

I happened to find one of these little guys in my office a few days ago while having a rummage, as one does. I have had  this little crystal for years, inside one of those little bags of stones and herbs for spiritual protection that a friend gave me. I had opened the little bag to see what was in it and discovered this little crystal. A pale blue and white finger length flake of kyanite. It has a really nice feel to it and very attractive looking. 

I didn’t look up its properties until just now, so here is a website with some information to share. I see why I was attracted to it, it has an affinity with Librans.
