There is beauty in rain

 The sky darkens with heavy clouds, the air is heavy and a stillness abound, The senses are tingling as the tender delight of a downpour of rain; and the fragrant delight of a garden refreshed with a blessing from Mother Nature. The forests revived from the dry dusty terrain, reinvigorating the trees and the shrubs below. The smell of the gum leaves;  the song of the birds up high in the trees, the joy of refreshment in every breeze. There’s nothing quite like the sheer beauty of rain, it livens the senses and brings out your cheer of the goodness of Mother Nature that we hold dear. 

There’s nothing like visions of rain falling on trees and flowers, the lush green grass that’s refreshed by the rain. Everything sparkles anew with every drop, the blessings of rain drops that linger on petals and leaves enhancing their beauty. There’s nothing quite sounds of raindrops on the roof, battering on windows and cascading down the pane. Whether sitting inside watching nature’s show or sheltering outdoors in the wonder of nature. 

There is great beauty in rain, the ever changing skies and the backdrop of nature’s landscape below. An impressive display of Mother Nature’s talent as an artist with an ever changing landscape with sight, sound and smell. Fragrances delight my heightened senses and the atmosphere is alive with energy abound all thanks to the rain drops that enchant me and inspire me. And imagination takes flight, inspired to dream of a magical world where nature is queen.

The rain stops and with the parting of clouds out comes the sun. Blessing us once more, reminding us with a dazzling rainbow that natures supreme. The sun shares its beauty and warmth on all that it sees and beholding the vision of beauty that Mother Nature created, I am humbled and grateful for what gift nature has given me . The gift of love and appreciation of her great creation, a vision of great beauty and grace and something to hold onto when life gets me down. I turn to nature and see the joy and beauty in all of creation. The humble flower and the great trees above the sky that supports all life with the warmth of the sunshine and the blessings of rain that reminds me of everlasting life and its cycle, to appreciate the serenity of nature in all its glory. Of the simple things that make life so worthwhile if spent in the wonders of nature away from the darkness of the world. Kn owing that there is better in harmony than discord and the weather is a tonic to the ills of mankind. It replenishes the soul when all hope fails, I always return to nature as my saviour in life knowing that Mother Nature knows best. 

Tarot Card of the Month: April 2026, The Wheel of Fortune #10

Card number 10 in the Major Arcana 

April is a month full of surprises, sudden changes, expansions and luck 

First thing that I want to say is, I feel this war with Iran has kicked over a hornet’s nest however it may well be put under control and gradually halted. I feel that from the date it commenced, 28 February 2026, it could be 7 or 8 weeks conflict. Wars are very expensive and keeping up with missile manufacturing as well as drones takes time. So I feel that this will come to an end soon, but that doesn’t mean it’s a permanent ceasefire, time will tell. 

Last night as I was looking at the card I had a dreadful feeling of nuclear weapons being used and then I read a news report of Israel running out of missiles. I pray that I am wrong, humans have absolutely no right to ever resort to using nuclear weapons at all. No excuses ever justify such evil, I don't care who uses them, it's wrong and against what it means to be human and a spiritual being. I take no side in war and refuse to do so. 

April is a very anxious month with the war in Iran escalating, so this is a rather interesting card for the month. Like a roulette wheel of fate, and in the month ruled by Aries and Mars, which is an aggressive sign and planet, the ruler of the first house of the zodiac. So we see dynamic action, male energy, leadership, me first mentality and the element of fire. That is a volatile mix all it needs is a match to ignite. Keep in mind that this is also the Chinese year of the Fire Horse which adds more oomph to the conflicts going on. This is also fast moving aggressive energy when used negatively instead of using the positive creative energy of the Fire Horse.

Things are moving in a positive direction for some people, and this card signifies breakthroughs in business and in certain conflicts. However the Hermanubis  (the red character) on the wheel of fortune is in the rising position which represents humanity's base instincts. Tensions are rising to the surface around the world, and there is a feeling of manipulation being orchestrated in politics, notice the sphinx at the top of the wheel acting like the puppet master. Administering the law as he sees it, rightly or wrongly. 

For April, politics,  governments, law and order, money, finance and and family are all highlighted.

Religious tensions are also heightened which is obvious due to the Middle East conflict. The Middle East is astrologically ruled by the Sign of Pisces and the planet Neptune, which covers all forms of liquid including petroleum, oil, gas, and the bodies glandular secretions. This tarot card though is ruled by Jupiter, so all of this is factored in to the equation. Jupiter stands for expansion and good luck and rules the 9th house of the zodiac (Sagittarius).Which covers the higher mind, religion, philosophy, the superconscious, long distance travel and foreign countries and Education. 

So we see the meeting of both elements of Fire and Air come together  and adding the number 1 energy of the card with the zero to add more power to the number 1 (original, primary force) and the beginning of something being created or brought forth.

The number 1 is about the self, like the first house of the zodiac, which is the first house of life. It is about the individual.  Number 1 is power, creativity, authority, ego, leadership, originality and male energy.

So what we are seeing is an aggressive, dominant male energy forcing change to happen, be that on an individual level or society/global level. Change is always inevitable,  and April's card brings focus to this energy.  The influence of Jupiter means there is expansion in many areas, such as finance which also includes debt rising, business expansion, trade and manufacturing expansion. Here factor in ammunition expanding to keep war going. There is also good luck indicated so remember it's not all gloom and doom. Keep positive thoughts going please. Some may have a lucky win on the lottery for example. 

Turnarounds in any situation is possible with this card, so when life gives you lemons, this card shows you how quickly things can turn around and brings focus to the individual. Enlightenment in some circumstances brings a better understanding of what is really going on  with clearer thinking. I feel this relates mostly to Ukraine and Russia as we start to see a clearer picture forming.

The war in Iran is a 3 sided issue as it involves Israel and the US attacking Iran and Iran attacking its neighbours, to drag them under the wheels of the conflict. Mr Trump seems bored with the Ukraine war and is still not getting the results he wants. Mr Putin is still playing games with Trump and Zelensky; trying to wear them down. Mr Putin can clearly wait it out,  however this war only has a small window of opportunity  to end the war but at what cost. There is a price to be paid as Putin wants a deal that suits him and Zelensky will not agree. Meanwhile the death toll mounts for ordinary people.

Supermarket prices will rise again in April unfortunately due to the price of oil and petrol supply issues. There will be transport delays in global and local trade, but I do not feel it will be for very long. 

The courts will again be busy and have delays which includes government business and backlogs of general government work , with hold ups to inquiries, contracts, and the general processing of government work. 

Emotional tensions are highlighted in April, mostly to do with religious, cultural issues and the cost of living and homelessness. There is more violence against women indicated and the authorities need to lift their game here. This is due to the strong male energy of a number 1 year with aggressive Mars energy and the Fire Horse energy intensifying this energy. Other astrological factors are involved which are very long term. While this is male energy, please note that girls and women can and do exhibit this behaviour too. As we see more female on female violence and bullying occurring more often.

The Middle East is where many people are putting their energy  and focus on right now, wondering how it will affect them. This will be a see-saw of emotional energy through to July, so be prepared for sudden outbursts or explosions, accidents and disasters. Be safe and be prepared for anything. I feel airline travel will be almost like the Covid ere again. Expect communication interruptions such as internet and phones being affected. You need to be mindful and have backup plans ready to go in case of  any disruptions. Factor in having physical cash available for food etc, but don't mention to others that you have physical cash because that invites home invasions.  

Be very careful of large group gatherings such as clubs, night clubs, discos and similar venues, for risk of explosions.  There is a lot of tension in the air and short tempers are all too common, avoid arguments and conflict if possible. Avoid going to protests or being near them, even if you are just walking past a protest. Find another route rather than risk harm. 

Please be mindful of your thoughts and actions right now, thoughts are energy in motion. What we think we manifest and it is often without realising what we are doing. Every action has a reaction or cause and effect. Things are moving way too fast tight now and once the cat is out of the bag, that cat is as angry as hell and there is no way he's going back in there. Ever tried to bathe a cat?  That is the energy for April in a nutshell. 

This is the collective human mindset at present (notice the drop in spiritual energy?) Human spiritual energy drops to a low frequency with negative thinking and behaviour. This attracts dark energy and makes matters worse. A basic rule of metaphysics 101 inaction. 

Is is wise to uphold a higher state of being and lift ones frequency to a more peaceful and humaine level than sink into the dark and heavy vibrational frequency of violence and war. It does not benefit you nor humanity. It only benefits the dark side so don't feed it. 

It is much more harmonious to hold positive thoughts, ponder what it means to be human, being kind, thoughtful and serving others in a benevolent manner if possible. But always act with dignity, honour and integrity. Be honest and peaceful, while trying to remain calm and respectful towards others. Hopefully it can defuse any tensions and misunderstandings if people are reasonable. 

You are not responsible with those that are grouchy, just be polite and respectful towards others. We don't know what their circumstances are, and must never assume anything. That is how mistakes happen. 

I wish everyone around the world peace and prosperity, and please stay safe in these crazy times and look after your loved ones, including your fur babies. Our fur babies are sensitive souls that deserve a peaceful world free from suffering and fear too.

I hope those that celebrate Easter have a lovely Easter weekend, I personally see this as a season and much as I love my chocolate egg and chocolate bunnies, I like to think of nature and its great beauty as spring arrives and puts on a beautiful colour show all for free for us to enjoy.

Where I am in Australia  we are going into autumn now and our colour show is the golden, reds, and orange colours. The clocks turned back an hour  and dark nights return once more. Yet again nature delights us with her great beauty that she bestows upon us to appreciate. Isn't nature beautiful!

Choo Choo, all aboard the steam train! Younger people will remember this train from the Harry Potter movies as the Hogwarts express and seeing it travel across the Glenfinnan Viaduct in the north west of Scotland. This magnificent old steam train has travelled around the world on tour, including visiting Australia. I recall it arriving by ship and passing through Liverpool station in western Sydney in the late 1980’s. My family went to see the train passing through our local railway station and the crowd was enormous. It’s amazing how many people love these fantastic old steam trains. 

It’s lovely to be able to ride on a steam train with the windows open with the smell of the smoke wafting through the carriage. Mind you, you must put the windows up for going through a tunnel or the carriage with fill with smoke and the smell of coal. My father told me as a child he stuck his head out the window of the steam train and his face got all dirty with the smoke. Just great when you’re going somewhere special with your mum, lol. 

I envy the people getting to ride on this magnificent train and I hope they have beautiful weather to enjoy the experience. If you live in England and are a train enthusiast then you will be making sure that you get a ticket for the train.

When the bombs start to fall

 When the bombs start to fall, life changes in an instant.

No longer are we concerned with the everyday things that are all gone in an instant.

When the bombs start to fall we question life and its meaning. Not where we come from and not who we are. But for humanity, in an instant mourns lives gone by, no longer safe in our homes, no where to run to. 

Not like in days gone by, there are no air raid shelters and often no warning. Just hunker down and pray for the nightmare to stop. We didn’t ask for this to happen, you and I; the ordinary person in the street. We have no stake in the game. 

We are an afterthought of those who did the deed, what price do they put on humanity, and what lies will they tell. History will judge them and the times will not be free, of the innocence of children who died so that we may be free. Freedom is paid in the blood of innocence that was never, ever free. Only enslaved in the nightmare on earth that never takes a break. 

Farewell to the innocent, the honest and the true. Their freedom; the battle cry destroys, the power hungry men that divide a nation and a world will be remembered longer than the cries of children in terror; and in tears calling for their mothers. Only a wretched silence prevails to calm the cries of children taken from this world. Tomorrow there is sadness, tomorrow there is pain, to shift the sorrow before the bombs return again. 

How often must we repeat this before humanity gains its senses, that violence is not the answer, tis only a reminder of the darkness that lingers deep within the psyche that nature can’t erase. Not until the final call of heaven will this evil rage be tamed. To subjugate the souls was never in the game, until Satan sent his army down to scare us into doing his bidding to liven up the game. Only when his apostles finally are aroused to the calling of the righteous call will evil turn around and flee like a coward when the final call is sound. The dawning of the new life we must take it in our stride but never will we follow that blasted Satan’s pride. 

I leave you now to think again about the meaning of humanity and leading a spiritual life. Not in the sermons nor in the chalice of life, but in the Holy Spirit that dwells within your wife. She is the saviour of the creator that values all that is dear. She knows the pain and suffering of all that she holds dear. She is the mother, she is the wife that gives you love and courage to get you through your life. So spare a thought for the woman that is always by your side, be she wife or mother she will stand by you for life. 

Farewell to the bombs that cannot penetrate the love of a mother’s heart. A soul that bears the cross of losing her beloved to a war that has no cause, other than the monsters that make you die upon the cross. 

Regardless of you culture or your creed, take the time to thank your mother for the care she gave you before you lose your life. I leave you now to ponder the meaning of your life, sadly too many will pay the dreadful price to Satan’s minions for taking up his cause, destroying humanity for all its sacred life. No more will we be cursed by this evil wretched creature when the light bursts through, and the victory of spirit finally takes its place to dwell within humanity it rightful resting place. 

Go now and live in peace and show humanity what it means to be human beings and living truly in spiritually honest grace.

Low maintenance house plants

 Many people love plants but are time poor or just not as green thumbed as they would like to be. Lighting and placement of house plants is also a problem for optimum growth especially if you live in a small house or apartment. There are quite a few plants that are the ideal solution to your plant problem though. If you are into Feng Shui then these plants are also very beneficial for good energy, technically all plants are good for Feng Shui, but certain types are better suited for specific conditions. 

The dark green leaves are high in chlorophyll and therefore the plants can do well in low light conditions. If you live in Australia, the Snake plant can be expensive so you may want to buy tube stock as it’s much cheaper. This plant grows in cactus soil also which is around $6 or $7 for a small bag of cactus soil in Bunnings.

Ctenanthe Setosa , this is a beautiful plant with striped leaves and a purple/bronze stem that likes part shade.This is actually best by a window in indirect sunlight.

Enjoy your plant research and remember to take cuttings to increase your collection. Some plants will propagate very easily and others take a few months. It’s a good idea to look up the care of each plant and keep a printout of the care instructions. If you are also into Feng Shui then you need to look up the placement in your home to make the most use of your energy placement. Especially with Bamboo Plants.

Some plants are money attracting plants, some and for good energy and avoiding negative energy. 

Jade (Crassula Ovata) plants are a great indoor plant, but require good lighting, they are very long lived and great to take cuttings from to share. Jade is a must have for Feng Shui. Remember if you are living in the northern hemisphere or southern hemisphere when working with plants and Feng Shui. Google is useful to work out the correct orientation for your plants. According to the AI overview Jade is best placed in a window facing south in Australia.

 Such sad  news of the loss of such a true Aussie icon, Lorraine Bayly was perhaps best known for playing the loving matriarch Grace Sullivan in the old tv show The Sullivans and Carson’s Law to people overseas. Yet she was multi talented on stage and screen. It’s sad to see the end of a marvellous era of iconic Australian actors and actresses, that we will never see the likes again. Lorraine was always an endearing and elegant lady who was always a pleasure to see on our screens being interviewed. My condolences to her family and friends.

Why is it taking so long for people to recognise this fact, even children can’t regulate their body temperature and have fits due to the heat. This is a human rights issue not just for the disabled but for everyone, especially the disabled, babies and children and the elderly. 

Not everyone is able to get to a shopping centre or a public place to escape the heat, some people are in remote areas where access to public transport and cool public spaces is difficult. 

Australian houses are definitely not built to keep out the extreme temperatures either, and this adds to the problem. Construction in Australia is way behind the rest of the western world without double glazing and double brick walls and proper roof insulation, which is usually done after construction by the house owner. In southern parts of Australia houses are freezing in winter and boiling hot in summer without any air conditioning system. Houses built in the 1970’s were not solar passive either, with big windows, floor to ceiling and no veranda to shade the windows. Modern homes now have smaller windows but are often built close together, which prevents air circulation and traps the heat, and they still don’t have verandas to keep out the hot sun. Not to mention a lack of privacy in modern high density housing because you can hear your neighbours conversations outside. 

I am shocked that Northern Territory doesn’t have a subsidy scheme for disabled people as it is a very hot part of the country. The Australian Capital Territory is freezing in winter and can get as cold as -8 Celsius and in summer it can get up to 43.5. Temperatures above 38 is very hot to breathe in as you can feel it when you’re outside. Keeping hydrated only does so much, and if a person can’t regulate their body temperature they are in serious danger. Let’s hope that the government will take a serious look at the situation as this can be a life or death situation.

Interesting news article after reading the previous post. Getting old is not for cissies that’s for sure, and illness can happen to anyone. My father in law had this disease but I don’t know how long he had it for or if he was on medication. It wasn’t something he spoke about, and I just hope that my husband is not going to have this one day. It’s only a small percentage of people that inherit from a family member. But the risk is double if you have a parent or sibling with Parkinson’s. 

I do feel that our health is much better with exercise and a healthy diet without processed foods, but for many that can be quite difficult to do, due to the high cost of living nowadays.

The UK will not be happy with America in March, as there are a few issues such as, Trump policies, the Epstein  and the Royals issue and the economy. What is most important is what is not being said though.

I feel there is a panic or meltdown in UK politics with all of this and how to handle the dilemma and trying hard to save face. On top of this, is the problem with Keir Starmer. As we know his days are numbered, yet he is determined to hang on. 

Global security is at an all time low in March; with leaders scrambling to fix the important issues quickly. Tarifs, Greenland and how to deal with the Ukraine-Russia war are major points of concern. This will be expensive to resolve and there is more missing money from the Ukraine war funds. So, where has that gone?

Putin asks awkward questions and makes more demands. President Trump will back down to Putin's demands from Ukraine, which will anger Ukraine and Europe. There does not seem to be any stability in the war this month, there is the possibility of a breakthrough in April though. Timing is short unfortunately and a deal must be struck or this will last another year draining world economies. 

Make no mistake, Putin will stand his ground here, Trump seems to be frustrated and does not seem to be in control of the situation. 

Australia is entering a new era with unexpected changes and clashes between the public and the government are likely. Law/justice and the public are the crux of the matter, with poverty driving more violence, crime and drugs, especially in NSW.  The government  look like they have lost control over violence, crime and political protests. There is too much backing down to appease the the rowdy public that refuses to be silenced. This is highly political and the government must not back down to these individuals or things will go from bad to worse. 

Who really controls the streets in Australia? Is it criminals or the police? It cannot be both. Political disarray is the main problem and no backbone or proper leadership. Trying to pacify certain members of the community, yet ignoring the vast majority is a recipe for disaster.This does not bode well for the next 2 years and if this is not addressed  there will be serious trouble for the government to deal with due to ignoring the warnings.  

"Who will help the innocent victims of crime?" That is the question that must be asked by the public. It is unacceptable, and the authorities must step up and take firm control. The Australian people have had enough of crime and violence. 

Iran is facing more turbulence and the people are fearful yet hopeful for change. However they must prepare for more casualties and suffering while their leader is removed. Things will not go smoothly at first and more bloodshed is expected unfortunately before things are under control. 

The new leader whilst pro America may not be as tolerant with the Iranian public in some ways. Though much better than the current regime. Remember Iran has a huge population and people have different religious beliefs, so it may not always be safe for women within families due to the individual family beliefs. 

Food prices are set to increase again, especially beef prices due to import tarifs. Making do with smaller serves of red meat in the diet will be new dietary requirements, unless you have plenty money.

This makes my blood boil, how many more women have to suffer or die because no one believes them? Few people will step in to help, and the legal system is ingrained with misogyny. This article doesn't point out the warning signs though, it would be very helpful if it did. 

Things to watch for like changes in mood of the perpetrator, comments, micro expressions around the mouth and eyes, antisocial behaviour such as constantly not wanting to go out somewhere with you, not letting you go out with friends, preventing your friends from visiting. Preventing you seeing your family, constantly monitoring your activity, criticism, controlling what you wear and how you look. Controlling how you shop, whether it is for groceries or clothes, it doesn't matter what you are buying it's about the power over you. Absolute power, domination and control is what it is all about. This starts from the moment you meet and start dating, so be vigilant. You are targeted immediately by the predator mindset of such individuals. They recognise vulnerability instantly as that is what they are shopping for in a woman, to subjugate and dominate. 

In social settings how does the man behave around others and how does he treat you? Does he "jokingly" poke fun at you, knock your cooking, knock what you say, knock how you look or dress in front of other people? Does he criticise you in front of others? These behaviours start not long after you meet and will escalate. Watch out for sudden moody outbursts or giving you the silent treatment for no valid reason, or biting sarcasm and invalidating you as a person, as a woman, as an adult with your own autonomy. You do not need permission from anyone to be you! 

Learn to love yourself, respect yourself and do not let others tell you what you should think, say or do or act. Don't let anyone tell you what you should wear, except if it is something that will attract violent men like this to you.  

Women need to factor that in for personal safety, it's common sense because some men think it is ok to attack you because of the way you look and dress and how your body looks. They deem you as public property to be used. 

Let's face it this is learned behaviour it doesn't just happen out of the blue. Environmental exposure from a very young age shapes the mind to all sorts of experiences and a child's mind is like a computer as it absorbs everything it sees and hears. This is not an ideal world, and women need to stop thinking that they can go where they want, alone and dress how they want also. 

That is unrealistic in this world of violence against women. Violence is increasing, not decreasing, so learn to read the subtle cues, and when introduced to his family, look at his parents and siblings behaviour, there are most definitely subtle signs than many ignore.  In a busy social setting like a family gathering it can be difficult to pick up on these warnings, it can take a while to notice some signs.

Women in these families tend to be very guarded, watch their eyes though, are they looking to their husband or partner, father, brother or a male relative to see if they are being watched before they speak? That is a red flag make a note of these things. Some women though will defend that abuser and if you speak out they will turn on you for doing so. 

This is a huge emotional minefield and you will not have loyal support because everyone looks after themselves and closes rank on you. Friends may drop you because they don't want to get involved too. 

 From this you then enter the toxic world of the legal system that will put you under the microscope and character destroy you, making you out to be the problem. It is a horrific situation all round when it comes to violent crimes against women and girls and not enough is done to prevent this. Tougher laws as a deterrent is only one small part in stopping this abuse, holding men accountable for their actions, educating children from starting school and following that through into adulthood reinforcing that education, but it still will not stop the violence. Men have to want to stop being violent and abusive if it is in their nature to be violent.

What a horrible disaster this was, and, there is a lot that we still don’t know or understand about the affects of radiation on our bodies or animals bodies for that matter. The effects of radiation of the Chernobyl disaster. We still have to find out what happened to the people exposed to radiation from Zaporizhzhia. This is not from weapons just regular nuclear power stations, but just imagine the horror of nukes being used in warfare the nightmare would be off the scale.

Are some doctors really thick or just arrogant pigs? Childhood dementia exists as well as early adult dementia, so why are some doctors so ignorant of early adult dementia in the 30's and 40's age group or even 50's. It shows a lack of knowledge on the disease on their part. Do they even bother keeping up with medical research and discoveries? 

Hazel Hawke, wife of the late Australian Prime Minister Bob Hawke, was diagnosed with this terrible disease early too, and that was well publicised in the media although she was in her early 60’s. This seems to me like the usual misogyny and arrogance in the way women are treated by doctors, speaking from personal experience. 

Doctors need to be reminded that age is irrelevant when it comes to dementia, never assume anything because that is how serious mistakes happen. It’s more prudent to check out the patient thoroughly than end up being sued. 

Recently in the news menopause has been linked to dementia too, I myself have been seeing a gerontologist for memory loss and loss of speech. That was put down to stress, but I didn’t feel that was correct. I feel the tests are not good enough and need to be updated.

Fibromyalgia has an effect on the memory too, and I have had fibromyalgia for over 20 years. So I have been very mindful, no pun intended of the fact that dementia is on the rise and most people my age will have this terrible disease. The modern diet must play a part in this disease too, so we must rethink what we eat and stop eating processed foods. Perhaps a closer look at for ever chemicals and plastics in our bodies and the effects on the brain too.
