The first Anniversary of my father's death

It a whole year today since I lost my father, it still feels so surreal to me. I vividly  remember the phone call and what I was doing at the time. His passing was expected but still it is difficult when the moment arrives.

It's the anniversary of one of my favourite uncles too. My father's brother in law died in Scotland on the same day.  I lost 3 uncles and my father all within 3 weeks and it was a rollercoaster of shock to me.

Memories are something that I have to treasure along with the laughs, we do have the same sense of humour which will always be a bond between us.

Another Australian icon has left us at age 82. The month of October always seems like a month where there are many people passing to spirit, especially famous people. It’s nice that his family were there for his passing and he was said to be comfortable at the end. What a blessing to pass peacefully in old age.

It has been said that those born in the colder months often die in the colder months. My father was born in October in the northern hemisphere and died in December last year.

RIP Ken Page

I was only just watching my Cats DVD  with Ken Page on Sunday, because I kept hearing a song from the musical in my head. I have loved the show since I was 22 years old. Got the DVD, had the music on cassette back in the day, but made damn sure to get the CD as soon as the tape broke.

So sad to hear that Ken Page has passed away and so young too. May you rest in peace Ken knowing that the world loves you. A very distinguished gentleman.

RIP: Richard Lewis

So sad to see him suffer, like all those suffering silently with Parkinson's. His suffering is over but the pain has just begun for his family and fans. For a man that brought a lot of laughter into our lives, we thank him. Laughter is the best medicine no matter our ailment. The depth of humility is measured with the love given and the love received in return. May your star always shine brightly Richard and a guiding light for your family and loved ones.

RIP Dad you did the family proud

Tonight I had the saddest news of my life, my father passed away aged 87. I am utterly heartbroken and struggling to get my head around this.

It has been one hell of a month I have lost 3 uncles as well as my dad in the space of 4 weeks. One uncle dying the night before my dad, I lost a cousin and his wife not long befor that, gutted is an understatement.

For most of my father's working life he was an engineer, on reitrement he became a well known spiritual healer.

We are on this earth for a short time, we are on the earth; but not of the earth. The strength, knowledge and wisdom that we gain through life on this earth makes us stronger to be able to transition in to higher beings through grace, compassion and love. Leave this world with a poignant message to live in peace and let your light shine bright wherever spirit takes you.

Toblerone Cocktail

https://www.liquor.com/recipes/toblerone/

OMG, These are to die for, I first tried these many years ago and fell in love with them. They are way too easy to drink! Great to have during the silly season or anytime you want to indulge in a decadent cocktail.

I could go hog wild with these and some nice chocolates 🤣🤣🍸🍫🍸 lock the front door and pretend no one is home. Give the cocktail a go, I guarantee you will love it. My other love is Frangelico or a drop of Glayva (pronounced Glay Vah) a delicious Scottish liqueur.

If you like Rum Balls I have a recipe from the internet here to share. There are way too nice, I pigged out on these last year. I think I ended up making three lots, lol.

Optus outage costs Sydney woman saying goodbye to dying mum

 https://www.9news.com.au/national/optus-outage-update-mother-dies-hospital-family-not-notified-phone-outage-sydney-northern-beaches/774a4c7b-8ca4-48d9-b780-d6d7a43a3b19

This is heartbreaking at such a critical time for the family. This just reminds us that nothing is guaranteed in this world. Telecommunications, the internet and emergency services. Just imagine how it would be in a war scenario. This dying woman didn’t get to say goodbye to her family and this has a lasting impact on her family and her spiritually too.

I don’t think the carrier service makes much difference whatsoever but going with the main one Telstra you might be in with a chance but who knows really. Your bank and your internet and phone are your lifeline in the modern world and this is the permanent reality for the whole world now. How can we put our trust and faith in something that we have absolutely no control over. But it has absolute control over us.
