Today is two years since my dad passed away. The time has gone by so quickly that it is hard to take in. Time seems to go like lightning since the 1990’s; and when reflecting on a life that was, one comes to realise that everything has a finite amount of time and must come to an end, and how quickly that time really comes. Sometimes it may be hard to process what has happened, sometimes life is going by so fast that the mind just skims the facts and has to keep going. We don’t always get the time to breathe and actually feel the loss and what it feels like.
Life for my family and I has been a non stop roller coaster of things happening for many years, and I never get the chance to stop and catch my breath. It’s always life in fight or flight mode, and the moment I stop to try to relax, bam, I am hit with another serious situation. As regular readers will know, my husband was gravely ill for many years and had just recovered from surgery as my father started to quickly go down hill. Next thing I know my dad was at the end of his life, of course I could feel this happening without being told by anyone. However that just seems so surreal until the moment his life was over.
The last days of my father are something that only he could know at a subconscious level as he was not always conscious or able to communicate with others. I still think about the last hours of his life and not being able to be with him, yet his conscious self was totally unaware of who was present. He was out in astral in reality, just preparing to disengage from this reality so his consciousness would have been processing the end of physical life and attuning to the non physical world.
Thankfully having a background in the spiritual church he would have been more aware at a spiritual level what was taking place. That makes the transition easier to understand for the person that is dying.
Two years is still very much just the blink of an eye in what was a human life that is suddenly no longer here in this reality. I ponder what a life really means and how important any of us really are in the big scheme of things. Aware that my eventual death is only a blink in the eye of this reality. My dad was very much like Peter Pan, forever young with a youthful personality, I couldn’t put an actual age to him growing up. Even in old age he was very funny and easy to get along with, we laughed and joked all the time having the same sense of humour.
A wee funny Christmas joke for you dad, I know you would laugh at it
Scottish icon Stanley Baxter has died aged 99, this man was a multi talented genius and a living legend in Scotland, loved by everyone. A beautiful man with a heart and incredible talent, it's so unfair and so sad that he lived a tortured life. I would loved to have been his friend to take away his pain.
I recall rushing to the tv as a teenager whenever he was on, even one of his funny adverts for Birdseye. Those adverts were comedy gold back in the day.

One of his Birdseye adverts for Scottish TV
Beautiful and humble man, as we say in Scotland "you have a guid Scots tongue in your head"
Stanley, you gave the world so much to love about you. Allow yourself to accept that love, because you are so worth every bit of it. You earned that love and admiration that we bestow upon you.
Your talent and your humanity will live on within all of us that love you, and you will never be forgotten. Rest in peace and eternal love Stanley 💖May your light shine bright for all eternity 💖

What a sad loss to the world, the passing of a truly iconic actress that leaves an indelible mark on generations for her performance as Hyacinth Bucket…. It’s pronounced Bouquet dears.
This is the Wikipedia page on Patricia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patricia_Routledge she has quite an extensive career on stage, film and television. I have the Peter Rabbit DVD collection with her doing the voice of cousin Ribby, as I am a big Beatrix Potter fan. The black and white photo is Patricia in character as Beatrix Potter and she has a good of resemblance of Potter. Dame Patricia was also a member of the Beatrix Potter Society for 20 years.
May you rest in eternal peace Dame Patricia 🌹
Such a sad news to wake up to this morning, 89 though is a good age. Thankfully he passed in his sleep which is a blessing indeed.
Sad news Ozzy passing at only 76 another music icon gone that shaped a generation.
Sad news to waken up to today. I remember his father being the Australian prime minister back in the day and his passing. I remember Julian first appearing on Australian Television and his rise to fame. So sad to die so young, condolences to the family.

Tomorrow morning at approximately 5.30am Australian EST, it will be 50 years since the terrible cyclone Tracy hit Darwin. I had just turned 11 years old at the time and new to Australia. I had no idea what a cyclone at first, and I had only been in the country for 13 months, so everything was new to me.
On Christmas morning my brother and I woke up and went to open our Christmas presents around 5.30 am, as kids do. We had our little transistor radios with us and were listening to the news when the cyclone was reported.
I remember the shock when hearing of the destruction and deaths. I felt so guilty because I was safe in my home opening up my Christmas presents, and other children and adults had lost everything. How could I get my head around this? It most certainly put an end to any happy Christmas for me when I knew what had happened, Darwin was flattened. I ran through to my parent’s bedroom and woke them up, to tell them what had happened. I don’t remember their response other than just being woken up after a few hours of sleep. I remember the song, Santa never made it to Darwin, which came out after the tragedy. It gave me the chills and I couldn’t listen to it without being very distressed.

I will never forget this terrible day as long as I live, and all this week cyclone Tracy has been on my mind, not actually realising it’s now 50 years ago. But just a feeling of foreboding and worrying about a disaster happening on Christmas morning again was bothering me. Let’s hope that is not the case, it’s more likelihood that the energy of the event that is being picked up on and I being very sensitive to the energy.
It a whole year today since I lost my father, it still feels so surreal to me. I vividly remember the phone call and what I was doing at the time. His passing was expected but still it is difficult when the moment arrives.
It's the anniversary of one of my favourite uncles too. My father's brother in law died in Scotland on the same day. I lost 3 uncles and my father all within 3 weeks and it was a rollercoaster of shock to me.
Oh Wow!, What a surprise, Maggie was an big Aussie icon and very well respected. Condolences to her family.

Wow I had no idea that Quincy Jones was 91, he was a phenomenal and iconic star to say the least. May this great man rest in peace. We thank you for your amazing contribution to this world.

Such sad news hearing of Janey's passing. She gave us so much laughter throughout the covid lockdown and keeping us entertained. Thank you for your gift to humanity at its darkest hour Janey, may you rest in peace.
Another Australian icon has left us at age 82. The month of October always seems like a month where there are many people passing to spirit, especially famous people. It’s nice that his family were there for his passing and he was said to be comfortable at the end. What a blessing to pass peacefully in old age.
It has been said that those born in the colder months often die in the colder months. My father was born in October in the northern hemisphere and died in December last year.
