Wow, Not something that any pilot wants to experience. It’s far from what you see in the movies, we assume that it’s an easy exercise and the pilot lands safely. I knew that pilots have spinal fractures from ejecting but it’s a lot worse in reality. The poor man in 1995 was lucky to survive, but his off slider didn’t survive unfortunately and this was just training 😳 These men and women are very brave to go through all this training and then have to stay alive in a combat situation, which is not just a test of their skills but the roulette wheel of life and death each time they are in the air.
