Many a true word said in jest, we do leave our bodies when under a general aesthetic. I saw my husband standing next to me in the hospital waiting room out of his body. I was sitting in the waiting room waiting for him to have surgery to remove a melanoma from his arm. I just happened to look up from my book and saw him standing next to me. I telepathically told him to get back into his body and stay there or another entity could slip in there; and that can happen, although it is uncommon.
If it can happen to a person while they are wide awake, then there is absolutely nothing to stop them when you are unconscious and temporarily in astral. I put gold light around myself prior to surgery and around the operating room.
Medical staff are ok with you doing this too, I asked before doing this, because it is respectful. You would be surprised at how many doctors are very open to these things, especially the specialists.
