I did a post on red haired people a while back and red hair in advertising. Red haired people are a high risk for skin cancers (my husband had a melanoma surgically removed), different pain tolerance compared to non red haired people. They require more anaesthetic than other people, (my husband is a redhead, on the auburn spectrum and a few of my relatives are various shades of red, auburn, brown hair with red tones. My hair is dark brown but you can see reddish tones in the sunlight).
Amongst the famous people mentioned in the Wikipedia article they omitted Mary Queen of Scotts and Henry the 8th too. I knew that Cleopatra the 7th was a redhead from books that I have, and of course it repeats in families like any genetic trait. Also Pre-Raphaelite art often depicts red haired women with esoteric themes. The Nephalim were said to be red-headed giants who mated with human females.
Lol, notice the term ranga, an Aussie term for a redhead, former prime minister Julia Gillard was called a ranga in parliament. Redheads are known to be feisty so don’t go upsetting them.
Isn’t it interesting that there are also ginger cats 🐈 and red furred animals too. I have a real love for ginger cats. Our Garfield was a Persian cross tabby and he was such a sweet little boy, very funny and always got up to mischief. He earned the nickname Chiff Chiff because of that and apart from annoying his kitty siblings he delighted in climbing up the Christmas tree every year. That was good entertainment for the family because he was just so cute and baby like. He knew he was cute and really hammed it up.
